Skyline

Melbourne is a stunning city with a distinct, and compact city skyline. The south bank of the Yarra River offers remarkable close up views whether you’re at the west end, near Spencer street, or the east, near Spring street. Melbourne’s skyline can also be seen across Port Philip Bay. This magnificent view can be seen in our photograph from the St Kilda pier with the St Kilda marina in the foreground.

The Melbourne central business district (what our American friends would call the ‘downtown’ area), known locally as ‘the city’. It’s only 1.8 kilometres (just over one mile) by 900 metres (about half a mile). Which means there doesn’t need to be a lot of skyscrapers for it to look spectacular. Having said that, half of Australia’s 10 tallest buildings are in Melbourne and half of the 12 tallest planned\under construction buildings are also in Melbourne.

Since the 1990s there’s been two major growth areas for skyscrapers outside of Melbourne’s CBD. The first is Southbank which is home to Eureka Tower. The Badrock Photography photograph “Southbank from Transport Hotel.” has Eureka Tower as its ‘hero’.

PRINTS:

At Badrock Photography Melbourne we value our prints as the cornerstone of our business. A specialist printer in South Melbourne does all our prints. We understand mini-labs can be fast and economical, but the quality we expect and want to give to our customers needs to come from professional printing.
